Reporting a concern
Use the matching route on the contact page, describe the problem in a few plain sentences, and leave out personal details, credentials, and private records.
You can report four kinds of concern about the public Wrong Train website and this help center: something that does not work, content that seems misleading or wrong, a privacy concern, or a suspected security issue. Each has a route on the contact page, and a few plain sentences are usually enough.
Wrong Train is not a legal, clinical, or crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. See Safety and service limits.
Before you write
Include only what is needed to understand the problem: the page address, what you noticed, and roughly when. If an example helps, make one up.
Please leave out:
- personal histories, or detailed accounts of events in your life or anyone else's
- names, contact details, or other information about other people
- passwords, one-time codes, keys, tokens, or other credentials
- private records, documents, or files, or screenshots of them
- health, legal, or financial details
The contact page has the full list under what not to send.
Website problems
For a broken link, a page that does not load, or a control that does nothing, include the page address, what you expected, what happened instead, and your device and browser. If you add a screenshot, crop or cover any personal details first. Send it through Report a website problem. A page or link is not working has steps to try first.
Misleading or inaccurate content
If something on the website seems wrong, out of date, or likely to mislead, include the page address, the exact words, and why they seem wrong. A link to a public source helps. Do not send private records as proof. Use the website problem route.
Privacy concerns
For a question about what the website or this help center records, such as analytics on the landing page, name the page and say what you want to know. Send it through Privacy questions. For how the website and this help center handle information, see Policies. Do not send identity documents or details about other people.
Suspected security issues
Describe the affected address, what you observed, and the steps needed to see it again. If you came across a password, key, token, or someone else's information, describe where it appeared instead of copying it into your report. While looking into a possible issue:
- do not access, change, or keep data that is not yours
- do not run tests that could slow down or disrupt the website for others
- do not include exploit code aimed at other people or services
Send it through Security issues. Wrong Train has no reward program, legal safe harbor, or disclosure timeline for security reports.
Describing harm, and what the help center cannot do
You can describe harmful behavior in general terms: what happened and where, without names or personal history. For example: "A message that claimed to come from Wrong Train asked me for a password." The help center cannot investigate people or settle disputes, and it does not publish a response time.
