Understanding previews and prototypes

The examples on the Wrong Train landing page show how the product is designed to work. They are illustrations, not a live product, and they do not describe real people. Wrong Train itself is in closed preview, and access is by invite.

What the landing page shows

The landing page includes:

• A worked example. A synthetic record labeled rec-0119, with a button called Separate the layers.
• A sample SESHAT exchange. A short, made-up conversation showing the kind of response SESHAT, the analysis layer, is designed to give. It is not advice about any real situation.
• Descriptions of the product. The iPhone app and the private workspace behind it are described in the page text and the example. There is no link to a working prototype, no download, and no sign-in.

Everything in these examples is synthetic. It was written to illustrate the design.

What the Separate the layers button does

Pressing Separate the layers changes how the worked example is displayed on the page. It shows the example split into its layers, and pressing it again goes back to the original view.

• It runs in your browser and only changes what the page shows.
• It does not save anything, send anything, or start any process on your behalf.
• There is nothing to type into it.

Separately from the button, the landing page loads Google Analytics and Google Fonts when it opens.

What closed preview means

The landing page carries the label "Closed preview" and says "Wrong Train opens in small groups, by invite." For visitors, that means:

• There is no public product to use and no published release date.
• Reading the page or requesting an invite does not guarantee a place.
• Nothing on the landing page or in this help center is a promise that a feature will ship as shown.
• The examples illustrate the design. They do not describe a released product.

If you want a place

Follow the steps in requesting access. The landing page says: "One email when a seat opens. Nothing else."

This help center cannot say when a seat will open or whether a particular request will be accepted.
